Petty

You are petty like a
robin
rubbernecking on the highway
for detritus
during rush hour;
a backward-bounding bird
flipping in acrobatic
fussiness
to peck-peck-peck
at a small twig
of insignificance
to collect for your
scornful nest of
trivialities.
Mind the traffic,
petty bird,
because the traffic is too busy
with what matters
to mind you.
